Geek

 What is a ”geek”? The [http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/geek|Oxford English Dictionary] gives a ”very” bad definition;

#Noun. An unfashionable or socially inept person.
#Verb. Engage in or discuss computer-related tasks obsessively or with great attention to technical detail

Don’t believe a word.

The true definition of ”geek” is no longer so narrow, or so shallow. The Geek.Zone dictionary defines ”geek” as follows;

#Noun. An individual who is passionate, knowledgeable and/or interested in ”any” subject
#Verb. “to Geek” “to Geek out”. To engage in, or discuss with passionate excitement, something awesome, in ”any” area or discipline.

One can be a geek about anything – not just computers, not just science, anything. The word “geek” is simply a way of describing the feeling of excitement one gets when one is doing something that one truly loves. There’s no feeling like it – when you are challenging yourself to do it better, faster, more efficiently or however you wish to do it. Whatever ”it” is.

It is a more subjective definition than that given by the old stuffs at the OED, but its also more accurate. Do you get excited by something? If so, you are a geek, and you must join the exciting, like-minded community that is ((Geek.Zone (Organisation)|Geek.Zone)).
