== Introduction ==
There are already venues for the homosexual, biker, rocker and other communities, but there are currently none that specifically cater to the needs of those in the geek & nerd communities.
== Concept ==
A geek themed venue that conducive to gaming, geeky conversation, sci-fi, fantasy, hacking, making and other geek interests like Street Countdown. This will be called [[Geekbar|geek.bar]] as [[GeekZone]] has already acquired said domain name.
On entering the pub, guests will notice the tremendous memorabilia and other items of geek interest. The decour will be modern and interesting, while inviting. On seating, the guest will notice the innovative ordering and delivery system. They will also notice the wide range of drinks and food on offer. The guest will then be able to peruse the digital menu and have their order delivered robotically – a true first.
After their meal, guests will have the opportunity to play social games on the interactive table, earning discount on food and drink.
A guest might then wish to explore the venue to discover what else it has to offer. On doing so, they will discover other areas such as the cinema, TV/radio studio and makerspace.
Concept (Robert’s Interpretation)
Geek pub – a place where Geeks feel welcome, and can relax and socialise with their fellow geeks. Whatever the flavour of your geekery you will find a friendly comfortable atmosphere where you will meet many like minded people who share similar passions.
Home to numerous geek subcultures (Si-Fi, Linux, Culture, Film, Music, Gamer, Gadget, Comic, Coders) the geek pub is a community run bar/pub/hackerspace/playground where all flavours of geeks get to share their passions.
There’s always something going on at the Geek pub, events include
*Geek talks (Learn something cool),
*Gaming tournaments (Beat someone cool),
*Themed cosplay nights (Wear something cool),
*Geek Quiz evenings (Know something cool),
*Geek Excursions (Go somewhere cool) – I’m not exactly sure how this would fit into the idea of the Geek Pub, this seems more like an external event, we should focus on ideas for why the pub is such a great idea,
*Expert Office (Talk to someone cool),
*Hack times (Make something cool)
*If you are looking for a typical night out, with typical people, typical food and typical drink, head to the wetherspoons down the road. If you are after a place to engage your brain and passions then come in and join us!
Good atmosphere, good beer and good people – what more do you need!
