A [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code|QR|_blank], or Quick Response, Code is a type of two-dimensional barcode, first designed in 1994 for the automotive industry in Japan. At Geek.Zone, our public QR codes are used for purposes such as advertising, as opposed to our always link to an alias, rather than a page, as this allows us to change where that QR code directs viewers.
For example, if we were to print a QR code on a poster, we might want it to point to example.com/test one day, but then example.com/example the next. If the QR code had been encoded with example.com/test, we would not be able to change it, but if we set the QR code to an alias just for that QR code, we can change where that alias directs viewers to, so we are able to change it on an ad-hoc basis.
This page lists those QR encoded URLs and their current targets.
!Editing
If you need to edit a QR code, remove the alias from the existing page then add it to the new page and update this list.
!Creation
To make a new QR code, first decide on the code you wish to use. Double check that your desired code has not already been used by typing it into the address bar when not logged into Geek.Zone. If it is unused then you should see the 404 page. You then need to add the code after the final / character as an alias to a page and record it in the table below.
