The Chair of The ((Trustees|Geek.Zone/Trustees)) mediates all Trustee & LDT meetings, ensuring that all sides are voiced. Should a vote be tied, the Chair has the deciding vote. It is customary for the Chair to use this vote to defeat a motion, rather than to create a majority, though the Chair is not constitutionally obligated to do this. Equally, the Chair should cast their “normal” vote after all other Trustees have voted so as not to influence the outcome.
The Chair also aims to ensure that meetings run swiftly and stick to the agreed agenda.
